Consent Agenda - Roll Call Vote AMI Temetra Software |
| | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND: | On July 31, 2017, the City Commission approved a performance contract agreement with Johnson Controls, Inc. to implement a City-wide energy-based performance contract solution. As part of this project, the City deployed an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system for water services. The analytical component of this system, ITRON Analytics, is now being replaced with an upgraded tool, Temetra.
Temetra offers several advantages over ITRON, including improved meter geolocation, streamlined verification and validation processes, automated billing schedules, enhanced asset and route management, long-term data storage, and more flexible data export and file transfer capabilities.
The transition to Temetra includes initial costs for application setup, integration with the City's BS&A billing software, and training for both field and office staff. However, the ongoing annual cost of Temetra is approximately $6,000 less than that of ITRON. |
|
| | | | | | | | | FISCAL EFFECT: | The one-time setup fee for the Temetra Network is $12,285.
The Temetra application setup, field and office training, integration with the City's BS&A billing system, and any necessary onsite support and travel fees will not exceed $20,000.
The annual subscription cost for Temetra is $12,250, replacing ITRON Analytics, which currently costs $18,326.73 per year. Itron has agreed to keep the annual cost of Temetra flat for the first two years.
The total project cost will not exceed $44,535, with the City realizing an annual savings of $6,076.73 on software costs. |
|
| | | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION: | | Approve the conversion to the Temetra software by United Systems for the water AMI system. |
|
| | | | | | | | | ALTERNATIVES: | | As determined by the Commission. |
