The term of the current contract for curbside residential collection services ran October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2024.  Staff exercised the right to extend the contract by 180 days for continuance of services at the current rates while the details of the extension and amendment were negotiated.  The contract was amended four times previously to address tipping fee increases from MCSWMA and to move from green bags to garbage stickers.  The attached Fifth Amendment addresses the payment of tipping fees, transitioning to a fully carted collection, hours of collection, on-street parking during hours of collection, and the term of the extension.  The contract amendment will commence immediately upon approval and run through September 30, 2029.  It is the intention of City staff to go out for bids for a new contract to commence October 1, 2029.
