Since 1995 the City has contracted with an outside vendor to provide HVAC services at various City facilities. The types of services provided include electrical controls, chiller and boiler maintenance and other specialized services and testing that City personnel are unable to safely perform in-house.
The City has recently made a substantial investment in City infrastructure with Johnson Controls by entering a performance contract in 2017. One of our contractual obligations is to maintain the equipment installed under the contract according to manufacturer specifications. The proposed service agreement meets this requirement with the same terms and conditions of the previous agreements. The total cost for the first year of service is $104,610 with a 3% increase each year after.
The service contract includes all necessary services and preventative maintenance activities to maintain City HVAC and chiller systems as well as Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant process boilers and ventilation equipment at industry standards that will prolong equipment life and increase overall reliability and occupant comfort.
