The City Charter requires an annual performance evaluation of the City Attorney. In August, the City Commission authorized the Mayor to appoint a subcommittee consisting of Commissioners Hanley, Ottaway and Smith to the evaluation committee. The subcommittee met to review the City Attorney's performance and compensation earlier this month.
The overall evaluation was very positive. The City Attorney has successfully met all City Charter requirements for her position. Commissioner feedback has been provided to the City Attorney directly.
The committee recommends the term of the City Attorney's contract be extended to September 30, 2026. In reviewing Commissioners' recommendations and City budgetary constraints, the committee also recommends the Commission revisit the Attorney's compensation in the near future.
