BACKGROUND:

The City Commission approves all rates and fees. This year staff had a request for a 55 foot slip at Presque Isle Marina but we have never had a 55 foot slip rate. The layout of the new pier is such that slip C14, as highlighted on the attached map, is actually 55 feet long and we have rented it as a 45 foot slip in the past.

Staff recommends a rate of $4481.00 for a 55 foot slip. This is within the range of allowable rates as determined by the State of Michigan Waterways Commission. The 45 foot slip rate is $3,604.00 so the marina would see an additional $877.00 in revenue annually with no additional operating costs.

FISCAL EFFECT:

Presque Isle Marina would realize an additional $877.00 in revenue annually.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the addition of a 55 foot slip rental fee for Presque Isle Marina and amend the FY 23 fee schedule.

As determined by the Commission.
