BACKGROUND:

At its March 11, 2019 regular meeting, the City Commission approved GEI Consultants for the preliminary design phase of the Founders Landing Piers.

At the July 8, 2019 meeting, the City Commission approved a change order to GEI's contract in the amount of $200,000 to cover final design, permitting and construction oversight in the form of RFI response, and potential revisions to the drawings and specifications.

The permitting process dictated several changes to the design resulting in a change order in 2022 for construction oversight and additional design in the amount of $46,400.

The project was anticipated to be completed last fall, however, supply constraints and weather has pushed the final electrical, landscaping and site reclamation items into this spring. GEI is requesting a $5,000 change order to cover this additional project oversight.

This change order will cover the additional costs and scope items for engineering and construction oversight of the project through completion.

FISCAL EFFECT:

The cost for this change order will not exceed $5,000 and adequate funding is available for reimbursement from the 2021 MBRA bonds that were issued for this project.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the change order from GEI Consultants for construction oversight of the Founders Landing pier project in an amount not-to-exceed $5,000, and authorize the City Manager or her designee to sign the change order.

As determined by the Commission.
