| | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND: | | The Fire Department's current self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) are past their useful service life and are failing. The department has tried twice to attain federal grants for their replacement and has not been successful. The CFO has concurred with waiving the competitive bid process for this purchase because the manufacturer utilizes preferred pricing and there would be no financial benefit to obtaining bids. Jefferson Fire & Safety, Inc. has quoted $171,179.85 plus shipping for 20 SCBA packs, 40 air bottles, 27 face pieces, and 6 cascade cylinders. |
