Construction Materials Testing Services for 2023 City Construction Projects |
| | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND: | Construction materials incorporated into municipal projects require testing to ensure conformance with specifications. City Engineering Technicians are certified in the testing of various materials, but other testing is beyond the scope of the City equipment and personnel.
A request for proposals for construction materials testing was advertised. One firm responded. The proposal was evaluated to ensure that the scope of services meets City needs and that prices are reasonable based on previous years. |

| | | | | | | | | FISCAL EFFECT: | | $18,000 is included within the approved FY 2023 budget for this purpose. Sufficient funds for testing services are identified for each project. |

| | | | | | | | | RECOMMENDATION: | | Approve the construction materials testing Professional Services Contract for 2023 construction projects with GEI Consultants of Michigan, P.C. for an amount not-to-exceed $18,000, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the contract. |
