Superior Watershed Partnership - Lease

BACKGROUND: 

Superior Watershed Partnership (SWP) has requested the City renew their lease for office space at 2 Peter White Drive, commonly known as the caretaker's dwelling, at Presque Isle Park.  In lieu of monetary rent, SWP shall be required to provide the City and/or its residents any combination of goods, services and funds not less than $18,272 annually, which has been determined to be fair market value.  This amount will increase 3 percent each year for a term of five years.

 

As per City Charter lease agreements require two reads.  The first read of this item was on December 12, 2022.


FISCAL EFFECT: 
Rental proceeds of $18,272 in goods, services, or funds.

RECOMMENDATION: 
Approve the renewal of the lease agreement with Superior Watershed Partnership for use of the City-owned facility at Presque Isle Park for a renewal period of five years, and authorize the Mayor and Clerk to sign the agreement.
