A City Commission vacancy was created, effective November 15, following the resignation of Commissioner Jenn Hill.
Under the provisions of the Marquette City Charter, the City Commission has 60 days in which to fill a vacancy via appointment. The Commission voted unanimously on November 14 to accept applications from all interested parties and to consider the applications and appoint a new Commissioner at tonight's meeting.
The application was made available on the City website and by mail to interested parties. Applications were accepted from November 15 until 4 p.m. on December 8. In that time, the City Clerk received nine applications from interested parties.
The applicants, listed alphabetically, are:

- Sarah Wiensch
Candidate Blake Kuehn has formally withdrawn his application.
All applications are attached, and all applicants have been verified by staff and meet the eligibility requirements stipulated by City Charter.
