At its October 13, 2020 meeting, the City Commission unanimously approved wastewater engineering design service for a State Revolving Fund (SRF) solids handling improvement project at the Wastewater Treatment Facility. The bids for the project came in $1.8 million over the estimate and staff decided to delay the project and reapply for SRF funding, with the hope that the bidding environment would improve and that more grant funding would be available.
Staff has now been notified that the City was successful in securing a State SRF low-interest loan for $11,715,000 that includes a $5,857,500 principal forgiveness grant. Staff has negotiated a contract with Donohue & Associates for the Solids Handling Improvements Project Re-Bid, Engineering Services During Construction and Applications Engineering.
