Matt Treado has submitted an application for a license to use a portion of city property on parcel #0490040 for an existing fence and proposed extension of that fence with new materials to enclose a portion of the 848 Cedar St. property. The existing fence was placed after an easement was granted to Timothy Treado by the LS&I railroad (the former landowner) in 1993; it is approximately 226 feet long and encloses about 1,800 square feet of municipal land. The proposed fence extension would be about 64 feet long and enclose approximately 512 square feet of the City parcel. See the attachments to the application for graphics and details.
City staff reviewers from the Community Development and Public Works departments are opposed to approval of the request due to their being no apparent hardship or unusual circumstances that would justify allowing the enclosure of more of the public property, and thus the City Attorney has not been asked to draft a license.
