The City’s water/wastewater utilities have a stand-alone communication network for security purposes. The network switches used are approaching the end of their useful life. After consulting with the City’s IT department, it was determined the best course of action would be to lease the switches moving forward. The City received a quote from SHI International, a preferred vendor and partner in the National Intergovernmental Purchasing Alliance, for the necessary replacement equipment. The City would use CCA Financial to lease the switches for five years (60 months), at a monthly cost of $949 with a total lease cost of $56,940.
