Agenda Date: 1/31/2022 New Business Fire Truck Maintenance Agreement

BACKGROUND:

Recently, the Powell Township Fire Chief contacted the City with a request to consider a fire vehicle maintenance and repair service agreement between the City of Marquette and Powell Township. This agreement will allow City Motor Pool mechanics to service Township vehicles and invoice the Township for the work. The additional revenue generated will help offset department personnel costs. The proposed Agreement (attached) has been negotiated by City and Township staff and approved by the City Attorney.

This agreement was approved by the Township on January 18, 2022.

FISCAL EFFECT:

All revenue generated through this agreement will be placed into the Motor Vehicle Equipment Fund.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the agreement for Fire Truck Repair Services between the City and Powell Township, and authorize the City Manager to sign the Agreement.

ALTERNATIVES:

As determined by the Commission.
