Municipal Tractor Purchase |
| | | | | | | | | BACKGROUND: | The Department of Public Works currently utilizes two municipal tractors on a year-round basis for grass cutting, sidewalk plowing, and grounds maintenance. This purchase replaces a 2013 MB Tractor that is obsolete and no longer being manufactured. The purchase of a new four-wheel drive municipal tractor with attachment was included in the FY 21-22 capital outlay budget.
The City is currently a member of the Sourcewell Purchasing Program which is a national public service agency that provides cooperative purchasing assistance for state and municipal entities and is similar in function to the State of Michigan purchasing program known as MI-DEAL. By utilizing the Sourcewell Purchasing Program, the Maclean MV5 tractor purchase will be routed through the regional MV dealer, Miller-Bradford & Risberg, located in Negaunee, Michigan. In addition, the City will receive an estimated $9,250 in savings when compared to MSRP. |
