The City Charter requires an annual performance evaluation of the City Attorney. At the Aug. 30th regular meeting, the City Commission directed the Mayor to appoint three Commissioners to an evaluation subcommittee. The subcommittee consisted of Mayor Smith, Commissioner Hanley and Commissioner Stonehouse. All Commissioners provided feedback regarding the City Attorney's performance so far in her limited tenure in the position as well as goals for the upcoming year, similar to the City Manager.
Recently, the subcommittee met to review the submitted feedback on the City Attorney’s performance, as well as her first year goals.
The overall evaluation was very positive. The City Attorney is successfully meeting all City Charter requirements for her position. No increase in compensation was considered because the Attorney is paid on a retainer basis and the amount of her compensation for legal services is approved as part of the annual budget process.
