Water Treatment Chemicals

BACKGROUND: 

The Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Facility and Water Filtration Plant annually solicit bids for water treatment chemicals.  Seven suppliers responded this year. The attached bid tabulation includes delivered prices for chemicals meeting specifications.  

 

Pencco - San Felipe, TX                                                        

Hydrofluosillicic Acid 23.0% to 26.0% - $0.254 / lb.

 

USALCO - Baltimore, MD     

Sodium Aluminate, Technical Grade 38% - $538.60 / wet ton

 

Alexander Chemical Corp. - Peru, IL      

Sodium Hydroxide, 50%, Bulk Delivery - $3.05 / gallon

 

Hawkins - Superior, WI         

Sodium Hypochlorite 12% minimum, Bulk Delivery - $1.78 / gallon

 

PVS Technologies - Detroit, MI 

Sodium Bisulfite, 38% minimum, Bulk Delivery - $0.20 / Ib.


FISCAL EFFECT: 

Funds are included in the FY 2022 Water and Wastewater Budgets for these chemicals.

 


RECOMMENDATION: 
Award the chemical bids for FY 2022 to the successful bidders meeting specifications.
