Proposed Rezoning of 1651 S. Front Street - Roll Call Vote

BACKGROUND: 

The Planning Commission (PC) held a public hearing on June 1, 2021 for the consideration of Rezoning of the property at 1651 S. Front Street, from General Commercial with Conditional Rezoning (GC-CR) to General Commercial (GC). This property was Rezoned with Conditions, from Mixed Use (M-U) to General Commercial with Conditions on April 27, 2020.

 

The following motion was made:

 

It was moved by S. Mittlefehldt, seconded by M. Dunn, and carried 4-1 that after conducting a public hearing and review of the application and Staff Report for 03-REZ-06-21, the Planning Commission finds that the proposed rezoning is not consistent with the Community Master Plan and does not meet the requirements of the Land Development Code Section 54.1405, and hereby recommends that the City Commission deny 03-REZ-06-21 as presented.

Under procedures in accordance with section 54.1405 of the Land Development Code, staff has scheduled this public hearing and provided the Planning Commission's case file with all background materials, and their June 1st meeting minutes for consideration along with their recommendation. 

 

The City Commission scheduled this public hearing at the June 14, 2021 regular meeting.


FISCAL EFFECT: 
None.

RECOMMENDATION: 
Following the Public Hearing, deny the rezoning request as recommended by the Planning Commission.

ALTERNATIVES: 
Approve the rezoning request, adopt Ordinance #698 and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to sign.
