The City required the services of TriMedia last September for the use of ground penetrating radar to determine if any underground structures would require removal during the relocation of Lakeshore Boulevard. In addition, a health and safety plan was created for this site due to the presence of recorded contamination on the site. These services were approved at the August 12, 2019, regular City Commission meeting in the amount of $3,840.
On October 31, 2019, the City reached out to TriMedia to install temporary monitoring wells along the alignment of the proposed sanitary sewer main. The wells were needed to sample the groundwater for possible contaminants that may need treatment at our sewage treatment plant in the case dewatering would be required to place the main. In addition, the groundwater information was required by the EGLE for a permit. The sampling data indicated that the groundwater in the area of the new sewer main could be treated at the plant and a permit has since been received by the City from EGLE. This work required an amendment to the existing contract and was quoted in the amount not-to-exceed $3,615.
