Motor Pool staff requested funding to purchase a new plow truck to help strengthen the aging fleet in the FY 2019/20 budget. The truck will not come complete with a plow blade and underbody scraper. Purchasing the blade and scraper separately from the truck and upfitting with City staff saves approximately $30,000.

All current plow trucks utilize Monroe designed equipment. To maintain part commonality and ease of maintenance, staff has recommended Monroe equipment be purchased and installed on the plow truck. Staff solicited a quote from Monroe Truck Equipment for the plow blade and underbody assembly and was provided a price of $32,514.

The FY 2019/20 budget for the Motor Pool contains adequate funding for this purchase.

Award the purchase of one plow blade and underbody scraper, in the amount not-to-exceed $32,514 to Monroe Truck Equipment of DePere, Wisconsin.
