As part of the FY 2020 budget review, a revision of the sewer rates was recommended for sewer utility customers by Raftelis, the City’s utility rate consultant. The rate increase is necessary to keep a balanced budget associated with the adopted FY 2020 budget and to keep the Sewer Fund solvent. An 11.5% increase in rate-related revenues is proposed.
The rates will change per the attached Ordinance #684. Usage rates will increase for an average customer from $12.68 to $14.00 per kgal.
For an average customer using 4,000 gallons of water per month, the sewer bill will increase from $58.20 to $64.75 per month. For all three utilities combined, an average customer will have an increase of $11.76 per month, or $141.12 per year.
