Date Established/Background:  Established by the City Commission prior to 1974.  The City Commission approved a new mission for the Board on Oct. 14, 2014.  August 12, 2024 the City Commission eliminated the Harbor Advisory Committee, Presque Isle Park Advisory Committee and Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, and created a new Parks and Recreation Advisory Board effective Sept 1, 2024,

Mission: The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board advises the City Commission on the operation of the parks system, Lakeview Arena, and recreation programs.

Number of Members & Term of Office:  August 12, 2024, appointed 17 current members of PRAB, HAC, and PIPAC to the consolidated PRAB, with a plan to reduce membership to 11 no later than 2027.

Meetings Held: The scheduled meetings are at 5:45 p.m. on the third Monday of each month, except for January and February, which will be held on the second Monday.
